The 1st Annual Ben Lee Foster Film Festival
Films Created For Youth By Youth Presented in Wilmington, Delaware
WHO: Join Celebrity Hosts Paige Hurd (“Everybody Hates Chris” and “Beauty Shop”) and Malcolm David Kelley (“Lost” and “Antoine Fisher”) as they host the coolest night in kids entertainment promoting positive self expression through short films presented by teen director Ben Lee Foster (BET Films).

WHAT: The Ben Lee Foster Film Festival (BLF Film Fest) will showcase short film projects made for youth by youth. Ben Lee Foster feels it’s time to make a change in the younger community and feels the change must first start with him. The BLF Film Fest allows youth from all over the country to join Ben by creating positive short films to be showcased during the festival to inspire and encourage positive behavior and support of sensible choices “ It is my wish is this festival help youth that plan to become future writers, artist, producers, etc, create material with positive messages,” say Ben, the 16 year old film maker who is the youngest intern at Black Entertainment Television (BET) Films division in Los Angeles, CA. To date Ben has completed over 14 short films and will feature his latest 2 projects “Surviving Brotherhood” (which stars Paige Hurd and Malcolm David Kelley) and “She’s Worth Waiting For.”
Categories receiving awards include: “Best PSA/Commercial,” “Best Music Video,” “Best Short Film” “Best Adult Produced Project for Kids,” “Best Motivational Song.” A special live performance, awards presentation and autograph session are all a part of the evening’s festivities. A special workshop presented by Ben Lee Foster will take place earlier in the evening showing kids the steps in making their own films. A special project will be made and also presented/showcased at the festival.

About Ben Lee Foster
Currently 16 years of age, Ben Lee Foster began directing films at the early age of 8. Ben made history when he became the youngest person to ever intern at BET Films and be the youngest director to showcase his film at the American Black Film Festival all within the same month. As of early 2009 Ben has completed 14 short films and is currently working on his first full length feature film. Ben has been recognized by the NAACP, Black Enterprise Magazine, The Montel Williams Show and a host of other media outlets as the one to watch. Ben has received professional training through the Los Angeles branch of the New York Film Academy.
