Rapid, Director Damond Gordon, Actor Roger Guenveur Smith

Director Damond Gordon wrapped filming on his film "The Rothstein Diamond" Sunday August 17, 2008. The excitement about Damond (the once crew member for the hit HBO series "The Wire") being back in Maryland filled the streets of Baltimore. Lead actress Byata (runner up on VH1 "Miss Rap Supreme") and supporting actor Lil B Sure! (MTV "Rock The Cradle") performed like pros on their first feature film.

The Rothstein Diamond tells the unvarnished story of two women who resort to a life of crime after circumstances take drastic turns for them. Strategically hitting up small area stores, the women quickly change their lives around for the better and soon seem unstoppable. That is until a recent heist goes wrong, leaving a socialite's lover dead and a dirty cop hot on their trails. Sydney and Bianca are offered two choices, jail or steal on e of the most sought after diamonds in the world.

The plan for The Rothstein Diamond is SUNDANCE...the mecca of all film festivals. Keep your eyes open for this film because the buzz around town is very strong on this one! Some cast members include: Byata, Roger Guenveur Smith, Lil B. Sure!, Candace Sholz and Linque

Hassan Johnson Proves There Is Fire After "The Wire"

Photobucket
(Tori/Black Enterprise Mag & Hassan)

Seasoned actor and Ideal PR client Hassan Johnson, known most for his role "Wee-Bey" on HBO's 5 season run series "The Wire" was in Beverly Hills, CA last weekend. The big question everyone wanted to know..."Since the The Wire is over...now what?"

Hassan, who just finished filming "Brooklyn's Finest" with Don Cheadle, Wesley Snipes and directed by Antoine Fuqua proves that there is FIRE after The Wire :-) Hassan is enjoying the buzz about his 3 films set for 2008 release including "Who's Deal" (which he also has a producer credit), "Frankenhood" and "The American Dream." Don't forget, Hassan did have a 2 year run overlapping "The Wire" on NBC's hit series "ER."

While Hassan prefers to work instead of relax, he did get an opportunity to relax a little before heading back to New York to begin prepping for his next project

Russ Parr's film "Love For Sale" with Ideal PR clients Angell Conwell and singer MYA were in Beverly Hills, California to attend the premiere. Mya proved that she is true superstar with a stellar performance (loved the real tears...You GO GIRL!!!) and of course the veteran Angell Conwell makes you think acting in a piece of cake the way she is always so naturally convincing in ALL of her roles (how many film do you have this year Angell??? is it 6 or 7!!!).
Photobucket

Of course lead actor Jackie Long (who is definitely the next Denzel Washington/Will Smith with his carisma, smile and awesome talent) was there along with the rest of the cast including "Lazee" Lamont King (you rocked!!!) and Essence Atkins. Although Jason Weaver wasn't there, his performance on the screen was off the chain!
Photobucket

Thanks Russ, Eric, Jeff Friday, Yvette and Ghana for a great film and premiere and wonderful festival. Mos Def was just one of the amazing talents in attendance.

Photobucket

Ideal PR Client Gabrielle Dennis came directly from the set of the new season of The CW's "The Game" where she plays "Janay" to support friends and fellow actors Mya, Angell Conwell and Lazee Lamont King at their film premiere of "Love For Sale." Gabrielle too had a film in this years festival but due to her TV show shooting schedule was unable to attend.

However, once she was at the festival, everyone wanted to speak to this vivacious actress about the juicy role she has on her TV show and her film festival roles.
