Mambo Sauce Welcomes VH1 Soul to DC: Tabi Bonney directs video for the DC Anthem “Welcome to DC” which begins rotation on VH1 Soul 7.2.08!!!

The music video for “Welcome to DC”, DC’s hottest band Mambo Sauce’s latest single has just been accepted for airplay by VH1 Soul and is presently being submitted for consideration to MTV Jams, MTV2 and BET.
The video, directed by fellow DC superstar Tabi Bonney hits the small screen July 2nd, 2008 and the all - important release party/screening will be at the swanky Lotus Lounge, 1420 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20005 on Tuesday July 1st, 2008 from 8:00pm - 10:00pm.
The undisputed 2008 theme song for the city, “Welcome to DC” has received heavy airplay on both WPGC 95.5 and WKYS 93.9, and hit the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Charts in January. It was also the official intro song for all Washington Wizards home games at the Verizon Center this season. It has already been the subject of multiple fan videos on YouTube and has even been added to the repertoire of marching bands ranging from Ballou High School to Howard University and the George Washington University Brass Band to name a few.

Comprised of seven of DC's most proficient, young musicians by Red C Records founder William “Malachai” Johns, Mambo Sauce has created a new form of music, "Pocket" that effectively blends DC Go - Go percussion with well crafted songs, explosive raps and sultry melodies. Put Go - Go music, Kanye West, No Doubt and Outkast in a blender. Blend until the top pops off, and that might scratch the surface of where Mambo Sauce is going. By incorporating elements of a variety of music ranging from Latin to Soul, Hip - Hop to Rock into their songs, Mambo Sauce puts their individual stamp on the genre. As one of the few Go - Go bands playing all original music, Mambo Sauce and their label Red C Records intend to use "Pocket" music, to infiltrate the international music market with the DC Go - Go sound.

"Maylay's mixtape is the theme music for South Central, Los Angeles", DJ Crazy Toones says about "The Real Coast Guard".Bad Lucc, who's also a featured artist on the mixtape, had the following to say: "One of the dopest mixtapes I've heard in a while. I'm talking real West Coast music in its truest form without feeling you're stuck in the past. Maylay is one of the few up and coming artists taht I am checking for.

Ambi Sponsored ABFF Party

Photobucket

Actress Gabrielle Dennis (CW "The Game") and Neeta Wooten were invited to attend the Women in Film ABFF event sponsored by Ambi. Inside client Gabrielle Dennis took portrait photos with Dimitry, spoke with the fabulous writer Rych McCain and was shot on the red carpet by Vinnie and Hiltron. Passed trays and Bombay Sapphire drinks moved through the crowd and provided a very nice party atmosphere for the evening. Also in attendance was the Editor from the film "Misunderstandings" Stefan Latoure (pictured), cast member from the film Misunderstandings Valeta Sutton (also pictured), Hampton University alumni and film producer Richard Montgomery and play writer/director Fred Thomas who is currently promoting the new play (by Don B Welch) "My Brother's Keeper" running in Hollywood.

Ambi, who sponsored the most unique and adorable bags were the sponsors. And we all must say (who received the bag) that this AMBI bag and inside products was one of the best gift bags with useable WONDERFUL products we have received in a long time. We are loving the even & clear face wash and daily moisturizer (SPF 30!!!) and the soft and even creamy oil lotion. The air is dry in California :-) so the products are being used and LOVED!!! The Ambi bag included about 10 full sized skin care products including exfoliating wash, targeted mark minimizer, fade cream and all sorts of other creamy products! Very special Thanks to Cecy, Tiffany and Danielle (AMBI) for a great party and a wonderful gift bag

92.3 for everything and all of their staff (Thanks Wes Hall) who was SUPERMAN making things happen (Robert Lyles is the man!), and to Famous Cupcakes.com in North Hollywood for their amazing cupcake display for Al B. Sure! The guest loved them. Celebrity Photographer Arnold Turner snapped special portrait images of the celebrities in the private red velvet room, while many media outlets snapped away at the black backdrop inside on the 2nd floor in the media room. Things were pretty packed very early, and kudos to those who followed the "strongly suggest" arrival time of 8:30pm. Throughout the party, many decided to enjoy the DJ party room or go directly in the live performance room and toast with the birthday boy! The video presentation on the club screens ran all night and was provided by the most fabulous CJ (Cartier) of AfterParty247.com who also provided fantastic event coverage.

The night was hosted by Tommy Davidson who was witty as usual! Eric Benet and various singers took the stage including Ali Woodson of the Temptations, Keith Robinson from the movie "Dream Girls," Jon B, Chikezie (American Idol) a lot of others including his son Lil B. Sure! who sung Happy Birthday to his father. Al B. Sure! Jon B, Keith Robinson, Eric Benet and company sung Secret Garden, Night and Day as well as free styled to the biggest crowd R&B Live Hollywood has EVER seen. History was made and if you missed maybe you can catch it on AfterParty247.com, The Mike Sherman Show, The Weekend Gamer, Black Hollywood News or the host of other shows who were in the media room and post their video footage online. Thanks Juliette from FOX 11 Good Day LA for the post birthday mention on the morning show and be sure to check out Eugenia Wright's write up on the party on EURWeb.com http://www.eurweb.com/story/eur44146.cfm

Again, we appreciate everyone who lifted a phone, finger or a file to make this event happen in less than a week's preparation time!!! A very special thanks to Cinespace (Jack) and their security staff who was awesome in responding to our requests, as well as all of the staff at CineSpace and Icon Ent (Greg, Felipe, Brandon and crew) who worked hard. Priscilla V. (Ms "Priscilla-tate") Al B. Sure!'s assistant pulled invisible strings and the Ideal PR staff who worked really hard to have a packed media room receiving all the invited celebrities/personalities and overall more than 600 guests shared in Al B. Sure! and son Quincy Brown's milestone day. You can wish Mr. Al B. Sure! a happy birthday by visiting his myspace page and posting a comment: http://myspace.com/albsurenet

R&B Live has many locations in various cities. Its a venue that is designed for new, developing and rising singers to have a platform to perform, and many times in front of very important people. ABS! enjoyed meeting a lot of the singers many for the first time and we were all humbled by the list of young, rising singers who made their way out to the venue and those who stepped on stage.

(Please SAVE THE DATE July 19th for Paige Hurd's (Everybody Hates Chris) Sweet 16 party in Los Angeles.)
