CenterStage1 Magazine Private Launch Party

The premiere issue of CenterStage1 Magazine was released on Monday October 10, 2011 and celebrated at a private event in Dupont Circle, Washington, DC at Dirty Martini.


Set on the backdrop of one of its magazine features, the atmosphere was laid back and chic.

The appetizers and drinks were flowing and associates of the magazine mingled and viewed over-sized articles placed around the room. All invited guest were VIP's to the magazine being staff, features or supporters of the publication.















Actor and author Tray Chaney (featured on pgs 32-33 CLICK HERE TO READ) was there showing his support of the publication with his beautiful wife Aisha. The actor was very gracious and down to earth interacting with fans and supporters of both his writings and his TV work.



Singer B.Blunt (featured on pgs 28-29 CLICK HERE TO READ), who performed with his band CoolFire that night, was on deck shaking hands and kissing babies...ok, well maybe there were no babies to kiss, but he was warm and kind to all of his fans and supporters as well.

Media supporters Tiffany Alexander (Gloss Magazine) and Lisa Dove Washington (Celebrity Charity Magazine) were both stylish in their black dresses and L. Michelle of Soul Notes Arts and Entertainment was there to show her support as well in an adorable black cap.
CenterStage1 Magazine is proud to have a staff as eclectic and broad as the content we produce. While some of contributors are scattered across the country, almost all of the staff local to Washington, DC was in attendance.







Some staff members in attendance were David J. Orr, Tahira Mohamed, Saudia Harris, Omri Malul, Reggie Campbell, Donell Sellow, Trevis Cage, Paige Robinson, Yolonda "Coffeedreamz" Coleman, Marv "The Barb,"Kiesha Hardge, Monica Mathis and others. Additionally, there were family members, friends and long-time supporters of Ideal PR Media at this intimate gathering.

The zucchini fries, fried calamari and mini sliders were definitely the crowd food favorites, it was the delicate chocolate truffles made for each guest that had people talking the next day. Handmade by the Editor-in-Chief herself, each guest of the event walked away with a small bag of truffles wrapped in a decorative green leaf to symbolize the fall issue and match the color scheme of Dirty Martini.


















After the private gathering on the 2nd floor of the establishment, the guest retreated to the first floor, were seated for dinner and enjoyed the live jazz music of CoolFire featuring B.Blunt. For an even more special treat, CenterStage1 Magazine guest and Jazz great Sharon Clark graced the microphone and sang a couple selections. B.Blunt and CoolFire finished the night with jazzy renditions of new and old favorites.

 

The next issue of CenterStage1 Magazine releases on November 10, 2011 and will be publish bi-monthly (every other month) starting January 2012.

PopChips and Celebrities


Last Night, VEVO presented a private “Six Feet Deep” 3D experience at Hollywood Forever Cemetery powered by Dubset. Guests were handed 3D glasses when they arrived to enjoy the world’s first-ever private 3D experience with a celebrity DJ performance and were treated to snacks by popchips and an open bar with Belvedere cocktails. In addition to the live DJ performance, guests watched a special video tribute to DJ AM provided by Dubset. Costumes were judged by the souls who lay still six feet deep and prizes were awarded for best costumes.

Jamie King was captured snacking on popchips and hanging out with Topher Grace at the Halloween party held at the last night. The 2 arrived together (with 2 other people) around 9:30 and hung out with the crowds till after midnight. They were spotted mingling with the crowds and fighting with light swords.


Evan Ross, showed up dressed as a vampire and was seen hanging out near the dj booth as Joel and Benji Madden rocked the party and snacked on popchips in the dj booth.

Other party guests included Paris Hilton, dressed as mini mouse, Nicky Hilton and Brandon Davis who all arrived together; the latter were not dressed in costume. They were hanging out at a table off the dance floor, running through the crowd and dancing till about 1.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month...Learn The Facts!

Thanks to improvements in treatment and early detection, millions of women are surviving breast cancer today. Whether you’re worried about developing breast cancer, making decisions about treatment, or trying to stay well after treatment, here are some known facts about breast cancer.  Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. It is considered a heterogeneous disease—differing by individual, age group, and even the kinds of cells within the tumors themselves. Obviously no woman wants to receive this diagnosis, but hearing the words “breast cancer” doesn’t always mean an end. It can be the beginning of learning how to fight, getting the facts, and finding hope.

Each year it is estimated that nearly 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. Approximately 1,700 men will also be diagnosed with breast cancer and 450 will die each year. The evaluation of men with breast masses is similar to that in women, including mammography.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, other than skin cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is a little less than 1 in 8. The chance of dying from breast cancer is about 1 in 35. Breast cancer death rates have been going down. This is probably the result of finding the cancer earlier and better treatment. Right now there are more than 2½ million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

What are the risk factors? Being overweight and having a history of high saturated fat intake increases the risk. Half of all women are diagnosed over the age of 65, so this means that the other 50% are under the age of 65. The use of alcohol is clearly linked to an increased risk of developing breast cancer. The risk increases with the amount of alcohol consumed. In addition to a family history of breast cancer (in particular mother and sister), if you have had past radiation therapy to the chest area, or a history of hormone treatments (estrogen and progesterone, or gene changes— including BRCA1, BRCA2, and others), you could place yourself in a higher risk bracket. It is important to get those breast examinations. It is never too early to begin that process...schedule a mammogram!

A Night of Pink Hope Sponsored By Robert Andrew Salon and Spa Benefiting Young People Battling Cancer

Last night in Annapolis, Maryland, “The We Believe Foundation” along with Robert Andrew Salons and Spas presented “FACES: A Night of Pink Hope” which was presented in an effort to “give back hope to the community and bring a new voice to young women battling breast cancer!”

Hosted by the most fabulous Paul Wharton, make over guru/model coach and “6th Housewife” on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of DC," the event included a VIP cocktail hour, hors d’overes, silent auction, live auction, dance performances by the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, the Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders and a runway fashion show. 

In addition to a host of VIP guest who paid $150 per ticket, celebrity couple Ginuwine (singer) and Sole (rapper) we there to support this event, as cancer has personally affected their household with the lost of Ginuwine’s mother to the disease and multiple members in Sole’s family affected as well.

With clothing provided by Cloud 9 and Zweet Sportswear models walked the runway to raise money for a great cause. 

The most special aspect about this runway show was that it not only included fashion models, but it also included cancer survivors and a short video snippet of them receiving pampering by Robert Andrew spa and salon while sharing their tear jerking stories.

Dripping in jewelry provided by Little Treasury along with Diamond Cutters of Maryland, Mijou Jewelry and Zachary’s Jewelers, the survivors looked like a million bucks, but the fact that they were actually THERE as survivors was priceless.








Themed with “what are your three words,” Paul Wharton stated that his 3 words are
“Love, Forgiveness and Faith.” He placed singer Ginuwine on the spot by walking over to him on the front row of the show seating to ask him his 3 words, and he said without hesitation, “God is good.” Well said Ginuwine...exactly the three words that wraps up the evening. Supports walked away with a deep pink gift bag with tons of goodies, gift certificates and beauty products.

Steve Jobs: The Loss Of An Icon (1955-2011)



Every now and then, someone affects history on a massive scale. Steve Jobs is one of these people. As the CEO, chairman and co-founder of Apple, Inc, Steve contributed more than just innovative applications and devices that changed how the world operated, he contributed words of wisdom that altered how we think and changed how humanity believed.

Love your iPhone? Can’t live without your iPod? Hooked on your new iPad? Thank Steve for all of that. In fact, Steve was responsible for over 338 patent products ranging from computers to user interfaces in his lifetime.

In addition to great applications and Apple products, Steve was behind the creative film projects such as “Toy Story,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Incredibles,” and “A Bugs Life” among other dynamic Pixar Studio productions. When Disney bought out Pixar, Jobs became the largest individual shareholder (7%) owning more than Disney family member Roy E. Disney, who died owning about 1% of the company.

Consumers and celebrities are speaking out about their sadness and the impact his loss is having on them. Twitter and Facebook has been overflowing with quotes and images of Steve Jobs.

Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004, Steve fought and pushed on. Overcoming the odds and perservering in life is something that was instilled in him since being adopted as a child. Be Fashionable While Being Supportive...Buying Items Supports Free Mammograms

Ideal PR Media is very supportive of health campaigns. One specific awareness topic is that of Breast Cancer. There are many stores which sell items that have breast cancer logos, colors and ribbons on them, but not everyone donates the proceeds to the actual cause it is promoting.
