Mya with Students at Finale program on Saturday August 23, 2008
R&B Singer Mya founded The Mya Arts & Technology Foundation (TMATF) in 2005 in Washington, DC. Every summer Mya holds a summer program that educates students ages 5-13 in the arts and technology associated with the arts at The Howard Roads Academy in S.E. Washington, DC.
There are 6 program courses that the students can enroll in
Course 1: SOUND ENGINEERING
Course 2: STEP & PRECISION
Course 3: TARATIBU
Course 4: ART & PHOTOGRAPHY
Course 5: LIFE SKILLS
Course 6: COMPUTER SKILLS/MONEY MANAGEMENT
This year's program finale was filled with fun, family and plenty of heat. Students presented performances that demonstrated skills they learned in the program. Mya, Crystal (Program Director) and Ideal PR were there to make sure everyone was taken care of and the day ran smoothly.
