I had the pleasure to attend the VIP Dirty Habit Pop-up Dining Preview at Union Market’s Lab 1270. Everything was lovely.
At this invitation-only preview, guests sampled offerings from Executive Chef Kyoo Eom’s upcoming shareable plates menu, including crunch rice with shredded dry pork, tempura calamari, tuna tartare with shrimp chips, eggplant with bok choy and assorted pintxos of olive, octopus and chorizo. I must say, I had more than a couple of the octopus and chorizo bites! These alone will have me coming back as a repeat customer.
Head Bartender Sarah Ruiz served a sneak peek of highlights from her inventive bar menu, including the Matcha Picchu, made with pisco and matcha and Smoke Signals, an Asian tea-infused spin on the classic Old Fashioned. I personally enjoyed the Rice 'N Roses which featured angora sake, unfiltered vodka, lychee, almond and topped with a rose petal.
For dessert, guests previewed Pastry Chef Kieu-Linh Nguyen’s hazelnut dacquoise.
I cannot wait for this restaurant to open so I can try their Saturday Brunch!
