Jammin’ Java

Two powerhouse local bands set to rock the stage at one of DC’s best places to hear live music!!!

Mambo Sauce -

• “Welcome to DC” #95 on BILLBOARD HOT 100 HIP-HOP/R&B SINGLES 1.19.08!
• Winners of 93.9 WKYS’ 2007 Go - Go Awards for BEST CURRENT SONG, “MIRACLES” and BAND OF THE YEAR!
• Current Single “Welcome to DC” used as official intro song for all Washington Wizards home games at the Verizon Center!
• “Miracles” & “Welcome to DC” both used for Redskins Highlight Reels on Comcast Sportsnet!

Comprised of seven of DC’s most proficient, young musicians, Mambo Sauce has created a new form of music, “Pocket” that effectively blends DC Go - Go percussion with well crafted songs, explosive raps and sultry melodies. Put Go - Go music, Kanye West, No Doubt and Outkast in a blender. Blend until the top pops off, and that might scratch the surface of where Mambo Sauce is going. By incorporating elements of a variety of music ranging from Latin to Soul, Hip - Hop to Rock into their songs, Mambo Sauce puts their individual stamp on the genre. As the only existing Go - Go band playing all original music at present, Mambo Sauce and their label Red C Records intend to use “Pocket” music, to infiltrate the international music market with the DC Go - Go sound.

Politicks -
Since coming together in 2001 while at Radford University, Politicks has performed on the east coast from New York to Florida, shared the stage with several Grammy Award winning artists, recorded in Los Angeles and received regular radio play in their hometown of Washington, DC.
